The beginning and end of my Bollywood career

After my experience as an extra in Duplicity, I thought was ready for my day as a Bollywood extra. The call time for this role was thankfully not 5am like Duplicity, but it made up for it by being in the blaring sun. We had to report at 7:45am and the crew didn’t even show up until 11am. No breakfast we given, lunch was held until 3pm and we filmed until 7pm. I had to walk up and down the street all day as the shot the car with the actors driving down it over and over again. I think I actually made it on camera this time. Nonetheless, after this experience I will never be an extra again, it was surely the most painful $150 I have ever made. Here are some pictures of some me on set and of the main actors, but you’ll have to ask my mom who they are because I have no idea.

Kate's Visit

The day after the big Rose Island Trip one of my closest college friends Kate, came for a visit. Between jobs, it was the perfect opportunity for her to come down get some sun and relax. She was working way too hard as a corporate lawyer and was in desperate need of a good vacation. Time flew during her visit, but she got a lot of good sun, got a boat trip to Rose Island, a little sightseeing, and plenty of party nights. And a side of Priti drama that she handled very well, thanks Kate, hope you enjoyed your visit!

Rose Island

About 20 minutes off the coast of Nassau there is Rose Island. A traditional way to spend your Sundays during the summer in Nassau is to boat over to Rose Island and hang out all day drinking with friends. A buddy of mine has a boat and I’ve been really lucky to have gone out to Rose. This particular trip, we organized four boats of our friends to go down together for the day. Friends, loaded coolers, snacks, and sunblock. There is no better way to spend your Sunday. And yes that is a picture of Chris shaving, he was wasted.

Talking to a friend at the bar last night:

I'd rather get small pox than fall in love again.

LOL.

Ange's Visit!

So my best friend and I tear it up when we are together. Ange came to visit me for a few days when I had a couple days off and we proceed to wreak havoc throughout the island. Since Angela also used to work here, she knows everyone on the island and they were eager to see her and party. Her visit was a 4 day bender: tons of drinks, beach, the occasional meal and sleep. (And one night where she played an awesome wingman for me. Thanks girl, you rock) Each night is a story onto itself and probably better left untold. So here are some pictures that show the highlight of my trip thus far. Love you girl.

Adam's Birthday!

There was one fun night out during that heavy work time and it was Adam’s birthday. Most people know that I love birthdays, so I went earlier to get some party hats, a bday sign, and a cake to drop off at the restaurant before dinner. We went to Ichiban for Japanese with a large group of Adam’s friends then carried back to their home after for cigars and nightcaps. He was telling everyone how much he loved everyone by the end so I think he had a good birthday!

Early June

The morning I got back I had to attend a friend’s Christening. So very unwell rested, I made my way over to the church. After the Christening everyone went back to the Uncle’s house for a traditional Bahamian cookout: Chicken, Ribs, Peas n’Rice, Mac n’Cheese, Potato Salad, Rum. I was delirious at this point so I left early, went home and passed out. Then it was work time. As the gradweek program started, my work got heavier. Since the numbers were so low for the first month, I had to fill in on regular staff shifts as well as do the accounting. So my free time was nonexistent. I worked all afternoon, and then the clubs at night. Time passed so quickly, that I cant even remember any good stories. But I did manage to get a behind the scenes tour of the fish hospital at the Atlantis, which was pretty cool. A buddy of mine is the number 2 in charge of aquatic life at the Atlantis and when I was on property showing one of the new staff around, we ran into him and he gave us a special tour. There are a few pictures below.
